MGC Full-length cDNA Sequencing

In a project funded by NCI/NHGRI we are sequencing full-length cDNAs for the Mammalian Genome Collection (MGC). The goal of this project is to produce a sequence and isolate a clone containing the entire open reading frame for every human, mouse, rat, zebrafish, and frog gene. We are sequencing these cDNAs with a directed primer walking strategy and have sequenced over 15,000 cDNAs over the past three years.

The completed sequences are available by searching GenBank and also from the central MGC coordination site. All clones for these projects are obtainable from the IMAGE consortium.
